Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has opened within the Supply Chain Operations organisation for the position of Supply Officer, based in Client location. The successful candidate will drive supplier performance across the end-to-end supply chain in a fast-moving, digital environment. This role manages a portfolio of suppliers in support of all client Wing Programmes. Client operates a global supply chain, and this position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of supply to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily management of the supplier portfolio using existing business tools and future digitalisation means
- Anticipation of risks and driving mitigation actions
- Demand and forecast control
- Effective communication with internal customers, team colleagues, and external suppliers
- Supply chain prioritisation
- Challenge supplier performance where appropriate
- Lead and drive supplier recovery actions
- Understand and define optimal ordering characteristics and strategy
- Specify and use process automation
- Use data management tools to drive supply chain decisions
- Order Book Management and maintenance of MRP Master Data
- Coordinate Supplier Working Parties
- Interact transnationally with suppliers (remotely and/or on-site) and proactively operate in the procurement community as a partner to the Supply Chain Quality Manager and Commercial Buyer
- Act as the first point of contact for supply chain queries from operations
- Own and optimise procured goods stock
- Support supply chain and logistics transformation projects to create the future
Skill Set & Experience Required:
- Solid experience ideally in one or more of the following areas: Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering
- Experience in the use and deployment of digital solutions and tools
- Experience of transnational working
- MRP expertise and experience of SAP in a manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving capability
- Good teamwork ethic
- Project management and LEAN experience
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
- Willingness to travel and flexibility
