The Client is seeking a skilled and motivated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Developer to join the team. This role is focused on providing in-house capability to manage day-to-day administration, bug fixing, and system management within the Microsoft Dynamics ERP environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, customising, and supporting solutions within the D365 ecosystem, including Finance & Operations (F&O), Supply Chain Management, Customer Engagement (CE), and the Power Platform.
The role will also involve creating users, assigning permissions, making minor front-end and user interface changes, managing database-related customisation, and supporting flow configuration rather than heavy scripting. The ideal candidate will work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and practical business solutions. There is also a possibility of the role becoming permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop customisations, plugins, workflows, and integrations within the D365 environment.
- Customise and extend D365 modules using X++, C#, JavaScript, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Collaborate with functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain integrations between D365 and other enterprise systems using APIs and middleware.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for D365 applications.
- Maintain documentation for customisations, configurations, and development processes.
- Manage day-to-day administration of the MS Dynamics ERP system.
- Create users and assign permissions within the ERP platform.
- Handle bug fixing and ongoing system support activities.
- Make changes to the platform when needed, including minor front-end and user interface modifications.
- Support database-related customisation and configuration.
- Work with flow configuration rather than scripting where applicable.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in D365 development, particularly in Finance & Operations (F&O), Supply Chain Management, or both.
- Strong understanding of D365 data structures, workflows, and security models.
- Proficiency in .NET, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Experience with Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and integrations.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Lifecycle Services (LCS), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in ERP administration, including user creation and permission assignment.
- Good understanding of database customisation.
- Ability to make minor front-end and user interface changes.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience is considered more important than qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Developer Associate or equivalent.
- The client has indicated that experience is valued over formal qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Dataverse.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with third-party integration tools such as PLM tools, ETQ, and Arena.
