Programme Overview: The programme involves migrating payments processing capabilities from a legacy setup operated via a third-party into a new target environment within the client.
Immediate Objective:
- Exit the existing third-party dependency quickly by re-establishing connectivity and processing capability in the target environment with minimal disruption and limited redesign.
- Execute ETL pipelines and migration runs, troubleshoot data defects, and support dress rehearsals and go-live.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Hands-On Experience delivering data migration in banking environments, specifically within payments or similarly critical transaction systems.
- IBM DB2 on Mainframe strong expertise required.
- Indexing, clustering, partitioning and archiving - Query optimisation in high-volume environments.
- Large Scale Systems Experience working with high-throughput systems where data extraction must be performed without impacting live processing.
Demonstrated Capability:
- Data mapping and lineage.
- Extraction strategies from complex and congested tables.
- Reconciliation and validation of migrated datasets.
- ETL processes in controlled production environments.
- Safe Extraction Design with no disruption to BAU payment processing.
- Controlled handling of production risk.
Seniority Requirements:
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
- Proactive identification of issues and early and clear escalation of risks.
