Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join the Wing Analysis Engineering team at Client Filton. The team supports Client Wing structures across a wide range of programmes, including Single Aisle and Widebody aircraft, covering activities from early feasibility through certification and in-service support.
You will work in a highly experienced, international engineering environment that supports both technical growth and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Approve F&D deliverables and lead the resolution of fatigue and damage tolerance issues
- Own the technical scope of assigned projects and analysis tasks
- Apply appropriate fatigue and damage tolerance methods to engineering problems
- Contribute to improved engineering solutions and ways of working, drawing on aerospace or related industry experience
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers, both technically and behaviourally
- Engage across the Product Development Plan (PDP) from concept to in-service support
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in structural engineering and analytical techniques
- Solid understanding of aircraft structural design principles
- Background in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
- Studied engineering with a structural analysis specialism
- Approval signatory status in F&D or very close to achieving it
- Ability to step back, challenge assumptions, and propose new ideas
- Comfortable working in an international, multi-disciplinary environment with strong English communication skills
Desirable / Additional Information
- Prior Client experience is highly preferred, ideally with approver status
- Familiarity with Client tools and ways of working
- Single Aisle experience preferred, though Widebody profiles are also considered
- Integrity and professional ethics are essential, aligning with Client values
