Job Description
About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technologies team supporting the deployment and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing solutions used in aircraft wing assembly.
- This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies including industrial robots, CNC machinery, Cartesian systems, and collaborative robots (Cobots), driving innovation within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and support automated manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and improve automated assembly processes.
- Define specifications for new automation machinery.
- Lead automation and engineering projects from concept to implementation.
- Provide technical support for production equipment, tooling, drills, routers, and cutters.
- Analyse manufacturing data to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong background in Automation Engineering and/or Robotics.
- Experience working with automated manufacturing systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using data analysis tools such as Minitab or Skywise.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes within high-volume production environments.
- Understanding of REACH legislation
