Job Description

About the Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technologies team supporting the deployment and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing solutions used in aircraft wing assembly.
  • This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies including industrial robots, CNC machinery, Cartesian systems, and collaborative robots (Cobots), driving innovation within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and improve automated assembly processes.
  • Define specifications for new automation machinery.
  • Lead automation and engineering projects from concept to implementation.
  • Provide technical support for production equipment, tooling, drills, routers, and cutters.
  • Analyse manufacturing data to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong background in Automation Engineering and/or Robotics.
  • Experience working with automated manufacturing systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Minitab or Skywise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes within high-volume production environments.
  • Understanding of REACH legislation
