Tektora are supporting a secure UK defence programme and are looking to speak with DV Cleared Technical Authors for both contract and permanent opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience producing clear, accurate and well-structured technical documentation across complex IT, infrastructure, cyber, network or systems environments. You’ll be working closely with engineers, architects, project teams and stakeholders to gather technical information and turn it into documentation that can be used across secure operational environments.
The Role
As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a range of technical documentation, including:
- Technical manuals
- System documentation
- User guides
- Operating procedures
- Build and configuration documents
- Support and maintenance guides
- Handover documentation
- Process documents
- Knowledge base articles
What We’re Looking For
- Active DV clearance
- Previous experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist
- Experience working within defence, government, national security or another secure environment
- Strong understanding of technical IT environments
- Ability to take complex technical information and make it clear, accurate and easy to follow
- Experience working with engineers, architects and delivery teams
- Strong attention to detail and document control
- Comfortable using tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, MS Word, Visio or similar
Nice to Have
- Experience across infrastructure, networks, cyber, software or systems documentation
- Knowledge of ITIL, service transition or operational support documentation
- Previous MOD, defence supplier or secure government programme experience
- Experience working in Agile or project-led environments
