Responsibilities
- Act as a Global Subject Matter Expert for email technologies, primarily Microsoft 365 Exchange Online (cloud), Exchange Hybrid (MRS and Edge servers), Microsoft Exchange SE (on-premise), Outlook clients (M365 App for Enterprise and New Outlook), OWA, and Outlook mobile app (iOS and Android).
- Ensure that the Exchange email service is running at optimal performance by working with different teams, vendors, and partners globally.
- Support and lead incident management escalation and crisis calls related to Exchange technical issues impacting the email service globally.
- Support new email large-scale projects and initiatives aimed at IT optimisation and cost reduction, increasing user productivity and security, supporting business growth, or meeting regulatory requirements.
- Design solutions for email services to meet the requirements raised by stakeholders, such as business, senior executives, legal and compliance, cybersecurity, etc.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience in supporting and engineering Exchange Email on-premise and Exchange Hybrid environments as part of a large organisation.
- Experience in migrating a large number of mailboxes to M365 Exchange Online.
- Solid working and engineering knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server SE (automation, troubleshooting, high availability/disaster recovery, security management, patching) on large deployments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory PowerShell modules.
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure IaaS components (e.g., Pet/Cattle VM builds, ExpressRoute connectivity, etc.).
- Experience with Exchange integration on a multi-forest design at a large scale.
- Proficiency in developing PowerShell scripts and automating tasks in Exchange.
- Familiarity with network topologies and protocols, specifically DNS, load balancing, routing, and Network Address Translation (NAT).
- Knowledge of perimeter security devices and methodologies (firewalls, email gateways, proxy servers, anti-virus, etc.).
- Experience with DevOps/Agile operation processes and tools.
- Experience in adopting AI to resolve problems and deliver solutions (GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot, etc.).
- Significant experience in large multinational companies.
- Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across the globe.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex issues and requirements at a global level.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively, and delivering compelling and persuasive presentations.
- A track record of participation in significant and complex business programmes, overcoming challenges to consistently meet/exceed objectives.
