Job Description

We are seeking a talented UI Developer to join our Investigations IT team, which is part of the Risk & Compliance technology division. Our technology is designed to safeguard the bank and its customers from various risks, including Sanctions Risk, Financial Crime Risk, Identity Threat, Unauthorised Trading, and Market Abuse & Regulatory Sanctions. We support Enterprise Risk Management by providing systems that enable our global businesses to thrive through proactive, data-driven risk management. The Investigations Sub-Value-Stream (SVS) is dedicated to uncovering Financial Crime Risk swiftly and accurately, with minimal false positives. You will be part of the Transformers pod, maintaining an application known as the investigator tool, which is utilised globally by investigators to analyse transactions made by potentially risky parties. The application operates on an on-premise server, Google Cloud (GCP), and Alicloud, and the IT team is distributed across the UK, Poland, India, and China.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all aspects of the application development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment into production.
• Support and enhance existing investigator tool services by addressing issues, automating processes, and improving service quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various teams, including individual POD, DRA team, Compliance, and central teams such as Architecture and Security.

Essential Skills

• Experience in building secure web applications using JavaScript with a strong understanding of the React JavaScript framework.
• Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities in web applications.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud technologies.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.
• Strong command of SQL and familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL and Big Query.
• Understanding of Agile development principles, including Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Development experience within a Cloud project, preferably on Google Cloud.
• Experience working on Banking and/or Financial Crime Risk projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
• Capacity to explain complex concepts and work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to work in a team spread across multiple regions and time zones.
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn new things.
• Willingness to take ownership of tasks.
