Role Summary
We are seeking a strong Technical Test Manager to lead and evolve test engineering capability across a complex digital transformation programme (Digital (web & mobile) and Guidewire ecosystem).
This role works closely with agile delivery teams, Dev Ops and acts as the onshore technical authority for testing strategy, tooling, automation and quality governance.
It requires a hands‑on technical leader who can drive an automation‑first, AI‑driven testing strategy, resolve systemic pipeline and tooling challenges and improve speed, stability and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive modern QA strategy across web, mobile and backend systems.
- Lead adoption of automation‑first and AI‑enabled testing approaches.
- Act as technical authority on testing practices.
- Own and evolve BDD‑based automation frameworks (Java/Selenium).
- Ensure test case quality, reuse and maintainability.
- Address fragmented ownership of automation assets.
- Lead mobile testing strategy (i OS/Android using Appium).
- Oversee device platform strategy and tooling modernisation.
- Improve stability of test pipelines (Azure Dev Ops or equivalent).
- Resolve pipeline vs local inconsistencies, parallel execution issues and environment mismatches.
- Govern test lifecycle from team pipelines to release regression.
- Ensure robust risk‑based regression strategy.
- Drive test ownership at track level (each POD).
- Manage backlog of legacy test assets.
- Introduce structured tracking and accountability.
- Work with engineering, Dev Ops and product teams.
- Drive escalation and resolution of systemic issues.
- Mentor test engineers and uplift technical capability.
- Strengthen accountability at test lead level.
- Drive adoption of AI‑driven testing (test generation, failure analysis, optimisation).
- Lead pilot and rollout of AI accelerators.
- Key Technical Skills
- Java, Selenium (BDD frameworks).
- Appium for mobile automation.
- Strong test framework design skills.
- Azure Dev Ops or similar.
- Understanding of parallel execution, pipelines and environment setup.
- Experience with device farms and cross‑platform testing.
- Strong understanding of test design patterns and automation strategy.
