We are seeking an SC Cleared Electrical Design Field Engineer to support projects across the UK. This role combines hands-on site-based intrusive surveys with remote design and reporting work. The role typically involves one site survey per week, followed by home-based documentation and design work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site surveys
  • Assess not only electrical systems, but also wider site conditions and infrastructure
  • Complete approximately one survey per week, typically consisting of:
    • 1 day travel
    • 12 days on-site
    • Remaining time working remotely on reporting and design outputs
  • Review and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Produce detailed survey reports and design-related documentation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and CDM2015 requirements
  • Collaborate with project and delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely outputs

Requirements

  • IOSH certification essential
  • Active SC Clearance essential
  • Experience in electrical engineering within utilities, transmission, or power sectors
  • Strong understanding of AC and DC systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and work independently on site
  • Familiarity with CDM2015 regulations
