Job Title: Business Architect
Job Description
This Business Architect role supports a high-profile migration policy programme, focused on the integration and migration of policies, customers, processes and capabilities within a large-scale Financial Services transformation. The position requires a seasoned professional who can shape and maintain the business architecture, define future-state operating models, and ensure alignment between strategic objectives and delivery activities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to provide clarity, direction and governance across a complex change landscape.
Responsibilities Define, maintain and continuously refine business architecture artefacts across the migration programme. Develop and clearly articulate current-state and target-state business operating models to support strategic decision-making. Map business capabilities, end-to-end processes, customer journeys and organisational impacts to inform design and delivery. Support the assessment of migration impacts across customers, products, servicing models and operational teams. Work closely with Programme Leadership, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Change teams to ensure strong alignment between business outcomes and delivery activities. Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagements to drive consensus, clarify requirements and enable effective decision-making. Identify business risks, dependencies and opportunities throughout the migration journey and provide recommendations to address them. Provide architectural governance and constructive challenge to ensure strategic consistency and coherence across workstreams. Support executive-level communications and decision forums with clear, concise and actionable recommendations. Translate strategic objectives into practical business outcomes, ensuring that proposed solutions are both feasible and value-driven. Essential Skills Proven experience operating as a Business Architect within large-scale transformation programmes. Strong background in Financial Services, ideally in Life & Pensions, Insurance, Wealth or Investments. experience supporting large migration, integration, separation, platform replacement or business transformation initiatives. Demonstrable experience defining target operating models, business capabilities and business architecture frameworks. Strong stakeholder management skills, including regular engagement with senior leaders and executive stakeholders. Ability to influence, challenge and provide clear direction across complex delivery environments. experience translating strategic objectives into practical, measurable business outcomes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience supporting policy administration, customer migration or book transfer programmes. experience within Life & Pensions organisations, particularly involving legacy system transformation. Knowledge of regulatory and operational considerations within UK Financial Services. Familiarity with recognised business architecture methodologies and frameworks. Strong, credible and confident communication skills, both written and verbal. Naturally influential style with the ability to establish authority through expertise and professionalism. Collaborative approach with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build effective relationships. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and able to drive clarity across multiple stakeholder groups. Pragmatic and delivery-focused mindset, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Work Environment
The role is primarily based in Glasgow, with occasional travel to Edinburgh to collaborate with wider programme and stakeholder groups. You will work within a structured change environment alongside Programme Leadership, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Change teams, using established business architecture frameworks and methodologies.
