Our client, a leading Tier 1 Bank, is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect / Senior Engineer to support a critical ServiceNow transformation programme. This is an urgent requirement for a highly capable individual who can quickly integrate into the team, provide technical leadership, and deliver hands-on engineering and design expertise across the ServiceNow platform. The successful candidate will be a Senior technical specialist, comfortable operating in both architecture and engineering capacities, with the ability to define solutions and execute against them.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and technical design of ServiceNow solutions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Produce, own, and maintain detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and associated technical documentation for ServiceNow implementations and enhancements.
  • Provide hands-on configuration, development, and implementation support across the ServiceNow platform when required.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and define, prioritise, and deliver improvements to the ServiceNow platform.
  • Ensure all technical solutions align with wider enterprise architecture standards and operational requirements, including resilience and performance expectations.
  • Support the migration, optimisation, and enhancement of existing ServiceNow capabilities to improve usability, stability, and value.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert across ServiceNow-related initiatives, offering guidance, best practice advice, and technical leadership to colleagues and project teams.
  • Contribute to the definition and refinement of ServiceNow standards, patterns, and best practices within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure ServiceNow solutions meet Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and operational resilience requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Architect or as a highly experienced Senior ServiceNow Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on technical capability with the ServiceNow platform, including configuration, development, and implementation.
  • Demonstrable experience producing detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and clear technical documentation.
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, configuration, implementation, and platform best practices.
  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments, integrating ServiceNow with wider systems and processes.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements and related operational resilience considerations.
  • Ability to quickly integrate into a team and operate effectively with minimal onboarding.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
