This is a meaningful role in a mission-led SaaS company with strong growth forcast for the next 12 months.

The right .net lead will get the chance to work with household brands and solve real-world enterprise challenges – their biggest client is NatWest.

This is 2 days onsite in Newcastle Tuesday/Wednesday for team collaboration and then rest WFH.

The Principal Back End Engineer will have strong C#/.net experience and will be able to lead the development of service side platforms.

The right person will be both a hands-on engineer and technical leader, mentors developers, and champion engineering excellence; helping scale up and maximise potential.

Day to day they will –

– Lead the development of robust Back End services and APIs using C# and .NET Core/.NET 6+

– Optimise system performance, security, and scalability for a growing customer base

– Collaborate and advise on architectural decisions around microservices, data storage, and integrations

– Collaborate closely with product and other stakeholders to shape technical strategy and roadmap.

– Lead by example and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and performance

– Mentor and support engineers of varying experience levels, sharing knowledge, fostering growth and driving continuous improvement.

– Influence and drive company-wide engineering culture, processes, and technical strategy

– Drive continuous improvement across tooling, workflows, and development practices

– Contribute to architectural planning and long-term technical strategy as the subject matter expert.

Requirements

7+ years in Back End development with C#/.NET and experience at scale

? Deep understanding of software design patterns, systems architecture, and secure development

? Experience designing APIs with a strong focus on security and best practices in a SaaS or product-led environment

? Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud infrastructure; Azure experience is advantageous.

? Experience working in agile environments with modern DevOps toolchains

? Strong communication and leadership skills, with a coaching mindset and a commitment to team development

? Strong architectural thinking, cross functional collaboration skills and experience with scalable component-based systems

? A strategic thinker who can balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability and maintainability
