ACTIVE SC CLEARENCE REQUIRED
Unified Communications Engineer to support a major infrastructure refresh project, transitioning legacy Controlled Telephony systems to modern telecommunications solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering design documentation, including drawing packs, schematics, and low-level design (LLD) deliverables.
The role requires strong telecoms design experience, proficiency with CAD tools, and an understanding of telecommunication technologies used across critical infrastructure environments such as rail, oil & gas, and industrial sectors.
Technical Skills & experience:
Control Telephony: Understanding of control telephony is a key focus.
Drawing Packs: Ability to produce drawing packs, specifically low-level designs.
Software Proficiency: experience with Visio and CAD for drawing schematics.
Industry experience: experience in oil, gas, and rail sectors is highly valued, particularly for those who have worked on voice and trackside systems. This is because these industries often produce the type of drawings required, and some rail companies are downsizing, potentially making skilled individuals available.
Cross-over Skillset: Knowledge of the SDH world and MPLS/STP world is beneficial, as the role involves refreshing networks and ensuring different systems communicate effectively.
