We are seeking an experienced Technology Service Design Expert to lead the development, documentation, and implementation of service design frameworks within a complex, government‑facing environment. The role will focus on establishing and embedding service design principles and models, ensuring alignment with client expectations and securing formal approval. You will work closely with the existing service design team and collaborate across highly technical environments, particularly within Critical National Infrastructure (CNI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Design Development: Define, document, and produce comprehensive service design frameworks, principles, and models. Establish the underlying service design architecture to support operational and strategic outcomes.
  • Implementation & Embedding: Lead the implementation and embedding of service design practices across the organisation. Ensure adoption of service design standards within technical and operational teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with government clients to gain acceptance and formal approval of service design deliverables. Manage complex stakeholder environments, balancing multiple priorities and viewpoints.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the service design team to align approaches and integrate best practices. Partner with cross‑functional technical teams to ensure designs are practical and executable.
  • Technical Integration: Translate service design concepts into deliverable outcomes within a technical infrastructure environment. Bridge the gap between design, architecture, and engineering teams.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in Technology Service Design within large‑scale or complex organisations.
  • Ideally a background in Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) or similarly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and embedding service design frameworks and models.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams (e.g., infrastructure, engineering, architecture).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly in challenging or high‑pressure environments.
  • Experience working with government or public sector clients, including approval processes.
  • Knowledge of IT service frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
