Hi All, I am looking for a SaaS Delivery Tester for a large Pharma company. Needs to be confident with SaaS companies in a regulated environment and have clinical operations experience / life science experience. Understanding of AI helps. Inside IR35 role. Remote contract. Initially 6 months will be extended.

As a SaaS Delivery Tester, you will join our SaaS Delivery team as a senior individual contributor responsible for the quality of customer-facing releases and implementations. Your primary focus areas are functional and regression testing, data quality validation, and UAT support with customers. You will own test execution across multiple concurrent programmes and be expected to operate with minimal oversight. This is a doing role. You will execute test cycles for customer implementations, validate data quality ahead of ingestion, adapt test scripts to customer-specific configurations, and support customers directly through their UAT process. Volume is high across both test cycles and data queries, and the expectation is that you bring the rigour to cover it properly and the pace to keep programmes moving. You will work across multiple concurrent customer rollouts and product releases, sit close to the Test Manager to coordinate coverage, and flag issues early with enough context for the team to act. Active use of modern tooling, including AI, to maintain quality at pace is expected.

What You'll Do

  • Functional & Regression Testing: Execute test cycles for customer implementations and product releases. Own your test cases end to end, maintain them in line with platform and configuration changes, and make sure coverage is genuinely comprehensive rather than risk-adjusted to the point of missing critical paths.
  • Data Quality Validation: Validate customer-provided data against the companies standards before ingestion. Identify mapping errors, data quality issues, and structural problems early. This is a high-volume workstream and one of the team's most critical quality gates.
  • UAT Support with Customers: Adapt out-of-the-box test scripts to customer-specific configurations. Participate directly in customer UAT sessions, manage UAT findings, and communicate clearly with customer teams on defect status and resolution timelines.
  • Integration & API Testing: Test API integrations between customer systems and the companies platform. Verify data flows end to end and document defects with full reproducibility detail.
  • Defect Management: Log, track, and follow up on defects in agreed tooling (e.g. Jira, TestRail). Write clear, reproducible defect reports. Escalate blockers to the Test Manager without delay and with a recommended next step.
  • Release Readiness: Support go-live readiness checks across multiple concurrent releases and customer accounts. Confirm all critical test scenarios have passed and sign-off documentation is complete before handover.
  • Test Documentation: Maintain test scripts, execution logs, and sign-off records to the standard required in a regulated delivery environment. Documentation should be good enough that another tester can pick it up without a briefing.
  • Automation Contribution: Identify repetitive manual test cycles that are candidates for automation and raise them with the Test Manager. Contribute to automation build-out as the team's coverage matures.

About You

You are a senior tester with 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in SaaS or enterprise technology environments. You take ownership of quality without needing to be managed into it, know what good test coverage looks like, and are as rigorous about data validation as you are about functional testing. You communicate clearly, escalate early when something is at risk, and document your work so the team can build on it. You are comfortable in a fast-paced delivery environment where volume is high and priorities shift.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 to 8 years in a software testing or QA role within a SaaS or enterprise technology environment. This is a hands-on execution role; test management and oversight experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Functional Testing: Proven experience designing and executing functional and regression test cycles for SaaS platforms, with strong coverage instincts and the ability to identify gaps before they become go-live issues.
  • Data Quality Testing: Demonstrable experience validating data quality, testing data pipelines, or performing integration testing where data accuracy is the primary success criterion. Comfortable with SQL for data validation queries.
  • UAT Support: Direct experience supporting external customers through UAT, including adapting test scripts to customer configurations and managing defect communications with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in test management tools (e.g. Jira, TestRail) and API testing tools (e.g. Postman). Familiarity with structured data formats and integration patterns.
  • AI Literacy: Active use of AI tools to accelerate test case generation, defect analysis, and documentation. Able to apply AI to maintain quality at higher volume than traditional approaches allow.
  • Culture: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, adapt to shifting priorities, and hold delivery quality as a personal standard.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital health, life sciences, or clinical trial technology platforms.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and a willingness to develop automation capability.
  • Familiarity with regulated delivery environments and formal documentation standards.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models alongside engineering and product teams.
