HSBC is working on a strategic Identity and Access Management programme and is re-shaping the way Authentication, Federation, Privileged Access Management, Access Governance, Secrets Management and API Security is done across the bank. One of the pillars of that programme is Privileged Access Management (PAM). HSBC is uplifting controls and capabilities in privileged access and introducing a strategic password vaulting solution.
We are seeking an experienced RabbitMQ SME who can complement the existing Engineering Team to drive and support the implementations of RabbitMQ within non-production and production environments. RabbitMQ is a key component of the PAM solution and is used in our regional deployments and highly regulated countries. The RabbitMQ SME will provide input into architecture designs and engineer end-to-end deployment using in-house tooling. They will document this process and contribute to Low-level Designs through collaboration with internal Design Teams and technology SMEs.
This is a technical role where the candidate will work across several environments and interact with internal and external teams and vendors. The successful candidate must have strong analytical skills and technical knowledge, as a significant part of the role involves working with technical specialists and testing proposed solutions.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Essential Skills
- RabbitMQ: Used commercially and understand basics (Queues/Shovels/Exchanges)
- RabbitMQ: Configure clusters, understand multi-site implementations
- RabbitMQ: Manage clusters via Command Line
- Kubernetes: Understand pods, containers, deployments; comfortable with manifests and HELM charts
- Docker: Create Docker images
- Python: Create basic scripts and translate requirements; develop full solutions using external modules
- Powershell: Create scripts, use modules
- Windows: Intermediate Windows Server experience
- PKI: Creating, issuing and revoking certificates on Windows & Linux (PowerShell, OpenSSL)
- Docker: Understands tags and build images for Linux/Windows
- Ansible: Experience interacting with Ansible
Ability to find solutions with minimal external input; clear and concise documentation; translate non-technical inputs into technical solutions; communicate technical content to non-technical colleagues.
