Job Title: Test Environment Delivery Manager
Job Description
This role focuses on transforming testing processes from predominantly manual to highly automated, including the potential integration of AI, while overseeing the delivery of multiple complex projects. You will lead test environment assurance across regulatory and process-driven programmes, address underlying delivery challenges, and contribute to the strategic development of an AI lab for the testing function.
Responsibilities Lead the transformation of testing practices from manual to automated, leveraging appropriate technologies and exploring AI & ML integration to move the function towards an assurance-led model. Act as a hands-on test lead, taking ownership of test delivery across multiple concurrent projects and ensuring high-quality outcomes. Manage end-to-end test delivery across the lifecycle for up to 10 projects running concurrently across 14 programmes, covering both critical and less critical systems. Plan and manage resource capacity across onshore and offshore teams, ensuring the right skills and coverage are in place to meet delivery commitments. Coordinate and support a team structure that includes performance test leads, risk and automation leads, test lead specialists, and offshore testers. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in testing, including discrepancies between SIT and UAT, lack of automation, and issues with requirements and handoffs. Review the current testing landscape, assess gaps in capacity, processes and technology, and define clear improvement plans and solutions. Drive process improvement initiatives to strengthen test environment assurance, regulatory alignment and overall delivery effectiveness. Translate complex test information, risks and results into clear, meaningful business language for senior stakeholders. Engage and manage stakeholders at C-suite, Head of Department, Programme and Business Lead levels, building strong relationships and trust. Provide strategic input into the design and development of an AI lab to support advanced testing capabilities. Ensure testing activities comply with relevant regulatory and process requirements and support organisational governance. Monitor progress across projects, report on testing status, risks and issues, and implement corrective actions where needed. Promote best practices in test management, automation and quality assurance across the wider testing team. Essential Skills Proven experience in test delivery management, overseeing multiple projects and complex programmes simultaneously. Strong background in test management, including end-to-end lifecycle management for system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT). Hands-on experience with automation testing, including driving the adoption of automation within existing teams. Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate onshore and offshore testing teams, including performance and automation specialists and offshore testers. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders such as C-suite executives, Heads of Department and Programme or Business Leads. Ability to translate complex technical and testing information into clear business language for non-technical audiences. experience in process improvement within testing or quality assurance functions, including identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions. Understanding of regulatory compliance and process-driven environments, particularly in relation to testing and assurance. Strong organisational and multi-scope delivery management skills, capable of handling high project volume and complexity. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess current-state testing capabilities and define gap analyses and improvement plans. Additional Skills & Qualifications experience working with or exploring AI & ML technologies within testing or quality assurance environments. background in developing or contributing to innovation initiatives such as AI labs or advanced test environments. Exposure to field service management or similar critical systems within complex programme landscapes. Familiarity with large regulatory programmes and long-term transformation initiatives. Ability to mentor and guide test leads and offshore testers, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. You will operate within a structured regulatory programme environment that places strong emphasis on governance, process discipline and quality assurance. The role involves working across multiple programmes and systems, including critical platforms such as field service management, and coordinating both onshore and offshore testing resources. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and technical teams, using modern testing and automation tools and contributing to the development of an AI-enabled test lab. The work pattern is typical of large programme delivery, with a focus on meeting milestones and ensuring robust testing outcomes in a professional, technology-driven setting.
