We are seeking a dedicated Network Design Engineer or Network Architect to join our Edinburgh based clients Network team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical designs, operating models, and implementation plans for technology change programmes and projects. This role requires collaboration with the Network Infrastructure Manager to define policies, set standards, and maintain operational controls that ensure service stability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Network Infrastructure Manager to define policies and set standards for improving efficiency and working practices within the estate.
  • Contribute to technical designs for change programmes in all technology areas covering networking requirements.
  • Provide end-to-end technical oversight for major IT technology initiatives, particularly those related to network infrastructure.
  • Work alongside the Network Infrastructure Manager and other Technical Specialists to define and maintain the roadmap for network infrastructure.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in design and technical management of networking technologies.
  • Experience in technical ownership of networking solutions throughout their lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of technical design frameworks, trends, and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of networking technical solutions and enterprise application integrations.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced technical troubleshooting capabilities and methodologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with F5 ADC – BigIP LTM, Cisco Switches, Routers, and Access Points.
  • Knowledge of Zscaler Internet Egress and Private Access capabilities.
  • Experience with Checkpoint Next Generation Firewalls.
  • CCDP and CCNP qualifications are advantageous.

This role will require 2-3 days per week in the Edinburgh office and will be INSIDE IR35 for reference. The role also has the opportunity to go permanent with a very attractive package.
