Overview
This role focuses on building and maintaining backend microservices using modern Java (17+) and event-driven architectures powered by Kafka.
The position involves working across distributed systems, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and containerised cloud-native environments using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend microservices in Java (17+).
- Design and implement event-driven systems (Kafka preferred).
- Work with RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (e. g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI).
- Work with relational and/or No SQL databases.
- Containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Debug and solve complex problems.
- Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of professional Experience in Java development
- Strong Experience designing and building microservices-based architectures
- Hands-on Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka preferred)
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e. g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI)
- Proficiency with relational and/or No SQL databases
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Spring Boot / Spring Cloud ecosystem
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
- Understanding of security best practices in distributed systems
