This role offers an experienced Azure Platform Engineer the opportunity to join a high-performing Agile delivery team focused on designing, building, automating and supporting secure cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. You will take a leading role in developing and maintaining cloud platforms, implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, automating deployment pipelines, and enabling secure, scalable solutions through modern DevOps practices. Working closely with Architects, Developers, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners and Scrum teams, you will help deliver resilient cloud services while driving automation, operational excellence and continuous improvement. This is a remote position and requires active Security Check (SC) clearance that is eligible for transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure in line with best practice and organisational standards.
  • Develop, maintain and improve Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to provision and manage Azure resources.
  • Configure, optimise and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test and deployment processes.
  • Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment using tools such as Terraform, Bash and Python.
  • Manage and optimise Azure platform components including Networking, IAM/RBAC, Storage Accounts, Virtual Machines, Key Vault, Monitoring and Databricks.
  • Design, implement and maintain Azure networking configurations including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), Private Endpoints and DNS.
  • Implement and maintain containerisation solutions using Docker and Docker Compose to support application deployment and platform services.
  • Introduce and operate security and vulnerability scanning tools such as Trivy or similar solutions to improve platform security posture.
  • Collaborate closely with Agile/Scrum delivery teams, including Architects, Developers, DevOps Engineers and Product Owners, to deliver resilient cloud solutions.
  • Apply security, automation and monitoring best practices across the Azure platform to drive operational excellence.

Essential Skills

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure platform services, including Networking, IAM/RBAC, Storage Accounts, Virtual Machines, Key Vault, Monitoring and Databricks.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Practical experience configuring and managing Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines and CI/CD implementations.
  • Experience with source control and branching strategies using Azure DevOps Repos and Git.
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation using Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Experience implementing security and vulnerability scanning using Trivy or similar tools.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash and/or Python.
  • Solid understanding of Azure networking concepts including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), Private Endpoints and DNS.
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting Azure environments in production or mission-critical contexts.
  • Proven experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery teams.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Active Security Check (SC) clearance that is valid and transferable, within the acceptable timeframe for sponsorship.
