An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated electrically biased Service Engineer to join a leading specialist plant equipment hire company at their Aylesbury depot. This role involves the assembly, installation, servicing, and repair of plant machinery used across the construction, rail, and utilities sectors.

About the Role:
Working predominantly on site, you will prepare plant equipment for sale or hire, install safety systems, conduct electrical and hydraulic diagnostics, and ensure equipment meets required standards. The role involves technical hands-on work as well as some communication with internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install safety load indicators and control systems on plant machinery
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Diagnose faults using electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Maintain accurate service and compliance records
- Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
- Assist with equipment testing and support dealer networks
- Contribute to health and safety practices across the workshop
- Support training teams and other departments as needed
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Electrical / Electronic engineering background, ideally within plant or machinery
- Level 2 or 3 engineering qualification
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical diagrams
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and methodical work ethic
- Sound understanding of workshop safety and compliance
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage own workload
