Working for Tekmar Energy, the Senior Design Engineer will be joining our team to play an important role in the product development of cable protection systems for the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas Sectors.

Role Description - Design Engineer

Working in the Engineering team, the Design Engineer will be required to carry out a wide range of engineering design activities, taking products from concept through to sales and ultimately project delivery. The Design Engineer will be involved in optimising designs, through fundamental design, mechanical and thermal simulation of components and systems, prototyping and physical testing and on-site and subcontract manufacturing processes.

Role Description - Senior Design Engineer

Working in the Engineering team, the Senior Design Engineer will be required to carry out a wide range of engineering design activities, taking products from concept through to sales and ultimately project delivery. The Senior Design Engineer will be involved in optimising designs, through fundamental design, mechanical and thermal simulation of components and systems, prototyping and physical testing and on-site and subcontract manufacturing processes. The Senior Design Engineer may also be involved in overseeing subcontracted works, as well as leading technical projects and coordinating the activities of other resources allocated to design and development of products and projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experienced user of Autodesk Inventor, or similar
  • Experienced user of Mathcad and/or Excel for engineering calculations
  • Strong expertise in Design Engineering and Product Design
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and tools
  • Background in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in designing and delivering offshore or subsea engineering projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of offshore and subsea industry regulations is advantageous
