Position Overview

The UAS Technical Instructor delivers hands‑on and classroom training to TEKEVER personnel and its customers, ensuring proficiency in UAS systems, maintenance, and operations. The role supports curriculum development, adheres to aviation regulations, and promotes safety and technical excellence across all training environments. Instruction spans theoretical knowledge and practical skills, tailored to meet evolving industry standards and mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver theoretical and practical hands‑on training for engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel.
  • Develop and refine technical training materials, including manuals, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Ensure training content remains up to date with the latest UAS technology advancements and regulatory changes.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for training queries.
  • Ensure all training meets Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Ministry of Defence (MOD) regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation in accordance with industry standards.
  • Work with regulatory bodies during audits and compliance assessments.
  • Design structured training programs for initial, recurrent, and advanced technical UAS courses in accordance with DSAT methodologies.
  • Develop training modules covering UAS avionics, propulsion, payload systems, and maintenance best practices.
  • Implement practical exercises that simulate real‑world scenarios for hands‑on troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Ensure training aids, simulators, and UAS platforms are properly maintained and available for instruction.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to incorporate the latest hardware and software updates into training programs.
  • Recommend improvements and upgrades to training resources to enhance learning experiences.
  • Enforce best practices for safety in technical training environments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for UAS maintenance and operational procedures.
  • Work with TEKEVER’s Safety Management System (SMS) to enhance a just safety culture across training programs.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as an aviation Technical Instructor or equivalent role in operations, aviation maintenance, or military aviation.
  • Strong understanding of aviation systems, avionics, propulsion, and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in developing and delivering structured technical training programs.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations, including CAA, EASA, and MOD standards.
  • Strong instructional, written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Certified technical instructor qualification from a recognised aviation authority or training organisation.
  • Experience in military UAS maintenance or defence‑related uncrewed systems operations.
  • Familiarity with Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) UAS operations.
