Mission:
The Estate Management Assistant will support the day-to-day management, upkeep, and development of Tekever’s facilities and estate at West Wales Airport. This role has a strong practical focus, ensuring the safe and effective maintenance of the airfield, hangars, grounds, and supporting infrastructure to enable unmanned air system (UAS) training, trials, and operations.
What will be your responsibilities:
Estate and Grounds Maintenance
- Undertake grass cutting and airfield mowing using tractors and ride-on equipment, ensuring runway, taxiway, and perimeter areas are maintained to operational standards.
- Carry out routine groundskeeping, including hedge trimming, strimming, weed control, and snow/ice clearance as required.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance of estate facilities (e.g., doors, fencing, lighting, drainage).
- Support upkeep of hangars, workshops, offices, and storage areas.
Facilities and Contractor Support
- Assist with estate inspections and monitor utilities, plant, and building systems.
- Support the coordination and supervision of external contractors for specialist maintenance or compliance tasks.
- Ensure waste management and recycling are carried out in line with Tekever’s Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 aligned).
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Carry out daily site checks and report hazards, defects, or unsafe conditions.
- Support compliance with fire safety, emergency planning, and site security arrangements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and estate works.
Operational Support
- Provide facilities support for Tekever’s flight trials, training courses, and customer demonstrations.
- Assist in setting up estate facilities for operational deployments, meetings, and training events.
- Operate estate vehicles, plant, and machinery safely and in line with training and procedures.
Profile and requirements:
- Experience in estate, facilities, or grounds maintenance.
- Ability to operate tractors and mowing equipment.
- Strong practical/DIY skills with ability to complete minor repairs.
- Knowledge of basic health & safety requirements in an estate/operational environment.
- Organised, reliable, and proactive approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Tractor/groundskeeping qualifications (e.g., LANTRA, City & Guilds).
- Previous experience in an airport, defence, or operational environment.
- Knowledge of environmental management and sustainability practices.
- Trade background (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grounds machinery).
