TekAlloy are looking for an experienced Welder to join a well-established heavy engineering and manufacturing business. Our client is a respected manufacturer of bespoke engineered products, supplying critical equipment to industries including offshore, nuclear, petrochemical, and energy. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their fabrication team with an experienced welder who takes pride in producing work to the highest standards.

In this role, you'll be responsible for carrying out high-quality coded welding on a variety of bespoke fabricated products, working to engineering drawings and strict quality standards. You'll be joining a highly skilled team where quality, precision, and safety are at the forefront of every project. This role would suit an experienced Welder from a heavy engineering or fabrication background who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and takes pride in producing right-first-time quality.

Duties

  • Carry out high-quality TIG and MMA welding on bespoke fabricated products
  • Weld a range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, and nickel alloys
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication documentation
  • Ensure all welding is completed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Carry out self-inspection of completed welds, ensuring work meets the highest quality standards
  • Maintain full material identification and traceability throughout the manufacturing process
  • Work closely with Fabricators, Inspectors, and Production teams to achieve production schedules
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Follow all company Quality, Health & Safety procedures and industry standards

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience within heavy engineering or coded fabrication
  • Strong TIG and MMA welding experience (essential)
  • Previous coding to recognised standards such as ASME IX and/or ISO 9606 would be advantageous
  • Experience welding a variety of material grades and thicknesses
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing right-first-time quality
  • Understanding of quality standards and material traceability
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a skilled team

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 38-hour working week

Pay:

  • £20.03 per hour
  • Overtime paid at £30.05 per hour
