TekAlloy are looking for an experienced Plater to join a well-established heavy engineering and manufacturing business. Our client is a respected manufacturer of bespoke engineered products, supplying critical equipment to industries including offshore, nuclear, petrochemical, and energy. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their fabrication team with an experienced Plater who takes pride in producing high-quality work to the highest engineering standards.

In this role, you'll be responsible for fabricating a wide range of bespoke engineered products from technical drawings, working alongside a skilled team to deliver complex projects for demanding industries. Precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are essential, as every product is manufactured to exact customer specifications. This role would suit an experienced Plater or Fabricator from a heavy engineering background who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and takes pride in producing right-first-time quality.

Duties

  • Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications to manufacture bespoke components
  • Mark out, cut, shape, and assemble steel fabrications to tight tolerances
  • Use a range of workshop equipment including overhead cranes, grinders, and fabrication machinery
  • Prepare components for welding and final assembly
  • Ensure all fabricated work meets company quality standards and customer specifications
  • Maintain full material identification and traceability throughout the fabrication process
  • Work closely with Welders, Inspectors, and Production teams to achieve manufacturing schedules
  • Carry out self-inspection to ensure the highest standards of workmanship
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Follow all company Quality, Health & Safety procedures and industry regulations

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience as a Plater or Fabricator within a heavy engineering environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, or similar materials
  • Competent using overhead cranes, grinders, and general fabrication equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing right-first-time quality
  • Understanding of material traceability and quality requirements
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a skilled team

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 38-hour working week

Pay:

  • £20.03 per hour
  • Overtime paid at £30.05 per hour
