TekAlloy are looking for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join a leading precision engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield. Our client, a specialist manufacturer supplying high-precision components into the aerospace, defence, and energy sectors, is looking to strengthen its maintenance team with the appointment of a hands-on Maintenance Team Leader. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you'll play a key role in maximising machine uptime, developing preventative maintenance strategies, and leading the next generation of engineers.
In this role, you'll take ownership of all maintenance activities across the facility, ensuring machinery is maintained to the highest standards while driving continuous improvement through preventative maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). You'll also lead by example, mentoring apprentices and working closely with contractors, suppliers, and production teams to keep operations running efficiently. This role would suit an experienced Maintenance Engineer ready to step into a leadership position, or an existing Maintenance Team Leader looking for a fresh challenge within a modern manufacturing environment.
Duties:
- Lead the maintenance function, ensuring all machinery is serviced and inspected in line with maintenance schedules and legal requirements
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance and TPM programmes across the site
- Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing on a wide range of CNC machine tools
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Manage maintenance records, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date
- Oversee external contractors carrying out maintenance and installation work
- Obtain quotations and manage plant maintenance projects
- Sign off new machinery installations and ensure equipment is fully operational
- Monitor coolant systems and maintain coolant health throughout the factory
- Ensure all machinery remains safe, compliant, and fit for purpose
- Mentor and develop maintenance apprentices, carrying out regular appraisals and identifying training requirements
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence
We're looking for someone with:
- Previous experience leading or supervising a maintenance team
- A strong maintenance background within a manufacturing environment
- Apprentice trained or equivalent engineering qualification
- Excellent knowledge of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement techniques
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience coordinating contractors and external suppliers

- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
Package: up to £42500
