The Production Applications Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Blaby, Leicestershire. This role focuses on supporting the setup, optimization, and troubleshooting of TEK4’s EDM, laser, and ECM production systems, ensuring they meet customer and internal performance requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and testing machines, validating processes, and collaborating with design, software, mechanical, and electronic engineering teams to resolve technical issues. The Production Applications Engineer will also assist in developing and documenting production processes, provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on the manufacturing floor. The position involves hands-on work with machinery, data-driven problem solving, and active participation in process innovation and application development. This role will require the successful applicant to regularly represent TEK4 around the world at customer locations to hand over assignments to production teams for implementation of developed programmes.
Qualifications:
- Strong Technical Support skills, including diagnosing production issues and providing effective solutions.
- Software Development or software configuration skills relevant to machine control, automation, or CNC/PLC-based systems.
- Electrical Engineering skills for working with control systems, sensors, and power electronics.
- Mechanical Engineering skills for understanding machine design, fixtures, tooling, and precision assemblies.
- Testing skills for process validation, system verification, and performance analysis under production conditions.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or vocational certification in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or related field) are beneficial.
- Experience with EDM, laser, ECM, or similar advanced manufacturing technologies is an advantage.
