The company designs and manufactures all machines in Leicestershire, including EDM fast hole drilling systems, combined EDM and laser machines, laser drilling and cutting solutions, and ECM equipment for deep cooling holes.
TEK4 expanded its premises in 2018 to add a showroom, research center, and increased production capacity to meet growing international demand.
With in-house design, software, mechanical, electronic, and application engineering teams, TEK4 delivers complete process development, turnkey solutions, and innovative applications for customers worldwide.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Field Services Engineer role based at our HQ in Leicester.
The Field Services Engineer will install, commission, and maintain TEK4’s EDM, laser, and ECM machinery at customer locations both domestically and internationally, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing technical issues, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, carrying out routine preventive maintenance, machine installations and system upgrades.
The role involves providing on-site technical support, training customer personnel on machine operation and best practices, and documenting service activities and recommendations.
The Field Services Engineer will collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, support process improvement initiatives, and represent TEK4 professionally in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Field Service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills, with the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
- Experience performing Preventive Maintenance and reliability-focused service tasks on complex machinery.
- Customer Service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Relevant technical education, such as an apprenticeship or degree/diploma in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering.
- Competence in reading technical drawings, electrical schematics, and using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, hold a valid driver’s license, and work safely in industrial environments.
- Experience with CNC, EDM, laser, or ECM systems and basic understanding of control systems or industrial software is beneficial.
