Tek Troniks is looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Installation & Calibration Engineer to join our growing team. If you enjoy variety, problem solving, and working directly with customers, this role offers a great mix of technical work, travel, and independence.
About the Role
As an Installation & Calibration Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing and commissioning Tek Troniks monitoring systems, delivering on-site customer training, and carrying out temperature and humidity probe calibrations both on customer sites and occasionally in our laboratory. This is a field-based role, covering the whole of the UK. Travel is a core part of the job, and you should expect 34 nights away most weeks, depending on customer locations. Early starts and late finishes can happen, and while weekend work is rare, flexibility is essential. If regular travel or overnight stays would be difficult, this role won't be the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installations
- Carry out installation risk assessments.
- Install monitoring systems to customer and company standards.
- Provide on-site training to customer teams.
- Complete installation documentation and sign off.
- Sensor Calibrations
- Perform on-site and occasional factory calibrations of temperature and humidity probes.
- Complete all calibration documentation accurately.
- Service & Support
- Visit customer sites to diagnose issues and provide solutions.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to resolve support requests.
- Document all work completed.
- Reporting
- Ensure installation and calibration records are completed accurately.
- Provide clear feedback to the Operations Manager and Head of Laboratory.
- Other Duties
- Support wider business needs as required.
Skills & Competencies
- Installations
- Confident using hand tools for on-site work.
- Strong time management skills to organise travel, visits, and installations.
- Clear communication with customers and internal teams.
- Willingness to obtain an IPAF licence (training provided).
- Calibrations
- Basic understanding of calibration principles (full training provided).
- Ability to follow documented procedures and meet ISO requirements.
- Comfortable using laboratory equipment such as thermometers, baths, and chambers (full training provided).
- Ability to learn to perform on-site calibrations, including in situ probes.
Qualifications
- Desired: GCSE English Grade C or equivalent
- Desired: GCSE Maths Grade C or equivalent
