The predicted salary is between 35412 - 38220 £ per year.

Permanent 16 hours per week £35,412 - £38,220 per annum, pro rata (subject to 26/27 pay review) Newton Abbot Leisure Centre / Dawlish Leisure Centre / Broadmeadow Sports Centre. This post is a job share and the successful candidate will work closely with the Fitness Lead already in post. Each will have lead areas of activity but will share responsibility for the overall delivery of all duties, provide cover for each other and support other leisure centre activities when needed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Fitness Lead to help shape and deliver our fitness and wellbeing offer across our leisure centres. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing programmes that increase participation, improve wellbeing, and support the future growth of leisure services across Teignbridge.

Key responsibilities

As Fitness Lead, you will support the delivery of our fitness strategy by developing and co‑ordinating a wide range of activities and programmes for all abilities and ages. This includes sports programmes, holiday clubs & children’s activities, gym, group exercise, health initiatives and private hire activities. You will also support the Centre Co‑ordinator for our Approved Training Centres, leading the delivery of training and qualifications for staff and future fitness professionals. Working closely with operational teams, external partners and management, you will help ensure programmes are engaging, sustainable and aligned with our wider Teignbridge Leisure wellbeing strategy.

Qualifications and experience
  • Hold a current sports coaching qualification (level 2 or above).
  • Have previous experience in supervising a team.
  • Have previous experience in an operational team lead role in a leisure or sports setting.
  • Be able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where needed.
