Are you passionate about democracy and ready to lead a service that ensures fair and transparent elections? This is your opportunity to play a vital role in shaping democratic processes across Teignbridge. As our Electoral Services Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of all electoral services. The role involves planning, organising and delivering all types of elections and referenda, managing electoral budgets and submitting accounts to the Elections Claims Unit, and recruiting, training, and managing temporary and permanent election staff (in the region of 500 staff for elections).
You are expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of electoral law and implement changes promptly, as well as ensuring compliance with Electoral Commission performance standards and best practice guidance.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have extensive operational experience in electoral services, including elections and electoral registration.
- Have strong knowledge of electoral law and statutory requirements.
- Have excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Be able to lead and motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
