We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join the team at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, part of Teignbridge Leisure. In this key role, you will take the lead in supervising the day‑to‑day operations of the centre, ensuring services run smoothly, safely and in line with established procedures. You will play an integral part in delivering an excellent customer experience, with a particular focus on the effective management and operation of our swimming pools and pool plant.
You will hold a current Pool Lifeguard qualification and First Aid at Work certificate and bring previous experience of leading or supervising a team – ideally within a leisure environment.

- Have previous experience within the Leisure industry
- Lead effectively and motivate and encourage staff
- Be a strong communicator, both in writing and verbally, to a range of stakeholders
- Remain patient, level‑headed and calm under pressure
- Understand and enforce adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Be proactive and able to identify day‑to‑day problems and resolve them as appropriate
- Be able to manage competing workloads and work well under pressure
