£31,022 – £33,699 per annum

We are looking for passionate and people‑focused Duty Managers to join Dawlish Leisure Centre and Newton Abbot within Teignbridge Leisure. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the leisure centre’s facilities and staff, in accordance with policies, procedures and systems.

The role involves supervision of staff including payroll administration, producing procedure manuals, and ensuring the swimming pool and water treatment plant are monitored and operated in accordance with Pool Planned Maintenance procedures.

You will have Pool Lifeguard and First Aid at Work qualifications, and previous supervisory or managerial experience.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have previous experience in leading a team effectively and be a strong communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Remain patient, level‑headed and calm under pressure.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Be proactive and can identify day‑to‑day problems and resolve them as appropriate.
  • Be able to manage competing workloads and work well under pressure.
