About the Role
As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in turning our product vision into measurable outcomes that align with SmartPay’s strategic goals. This is a high-impact role where you will lead and mentor a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Analysts, Designers, and Data Engineers. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams, as well as external partners and customers, to deliver products that drive revenue growth, adoption, and long-term network effects.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically fluent, data-driven, and systems-oriented product leader who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by the challenge of scaling innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver strategic product outcomes that support payments network adoption, and growth of finance products.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional unit of Product Managers, Analysts, and Designers to deliver high-quality product initiatives with validated user and business value.
- Translate complex concepts into clear deliverables. Operate effectively with cross-product dependencies and operational constraints.
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering for optimal solution design. Foster collaboration with development team for a shared product vision and delivery plan.
- Be an expert on how customers engage with the platform (both inside and outside of TEG Marketplace). Identify unarticulated needs to drive product decisions.
- Leverage UI/UX best practices to ensure product is easy to use and helps with adoption organically.
- Drive the delivery lifecycle, from discovery through delivery to rollout and iteration.
- Integrate customer feedback and competitive landscape insights into product strategy and execution.
- Collaborate closely with Compliance, Support, Legal, Risk, Finance and Commercial stakeholders to ensure alignment, successful delivery and adoption.
- Work with the Head of Product and wider leadership team to define and evolve the product strategy, roadmap, and objectives.
- Maintain a deep understanding of competing products and financial technology trends in the UK and EU.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to close strategic accounts, resolve escalations, and maintain relationships with top customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven track record as a Senior Product Manager (or equivalent), ideally in FinTech or B2B SaaS.
- Strong technical understanding and credibility with engineering teams.
- Exceptional analytical and systems-thinking skills, with structured problem-solving ability.
- Skilled in stakeholder management across technical and non-technical groups, including C-level.
- Experienced in leading teams, prioritising conflicting inputs, and navigating ambiguity.
- Working knowledge of wallet-based payment infrastructure, multi-party payment flows, and business finance.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and specifications.
Desirable:
- Experience in two-sided marketplaces (ideally B2B) or network-driven platforms with viral mechanics.
- Familiarity with E-money wallets, Open Banking, and card payments.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Sisense, Tableau, Figma, Productboard, Miro, SQL.
- Willingness to adopt AI-enabled product management tools.
- Strong knowledge of product development lifecycle and Agile/Kanban methodologies
