More Than English summer school in Ludlow offers choice & challenge for students aged 11-17 from around the globe. General English is an important part of our course, along with a range of Get Ahead options:

Job Summary: 70 students, 16 core staff + Specialist coaches & tutors. Your contribution will be key. Join our team of dedicated professionals at the UK's most personalised campus summer school. Perfect for candidates who want to be part of a higher performing team and who will enjoy making a full contribution to the life of our dynamic international community. We are located in a spectacular countryside setting just 5 minutes from picturesque Ludlow.

Programme overview: Our students choose one subject to study every morning with options including English Language, Business & Entrepreneurship, and Global Leadership. Students select from a range of 10 Specialisms in the afternoons from Film Making to Pro-Golf; from Karting School to Outdoor Leadership. The Social programme brings the whole school together with creative and sports activities plus events. Our programme is designed to create a life-changing experience for children and teenagers through which they not only develop their language skills but discover new perspectives & develop their self-confidence and social skills.

Candidate profile: Summer school is demanding & rewarding in equal measure. Fulfilling the duty of care to children & teenagers in our residential community makes teamwork within & across teams essential.

Desirable: Previous summer school experience

Summary of Teaching positions:

  • Academic Duties: Plan and deliver 15 one-hour lessons in line with the educational mission and framework in the Teachers Guide. Undertake administration tasks including course outlines, registers, and reports.

Residential Summer School Duties:

  • Support Activity Designers in delivery of the Social programme
  • Support House Parents in supervision of the residences & creating a safe & secure environment
  • Airport transfers

Summary of Activity Manager & Activity Leaders:

  • Lead and deliver an exciting programme of activities, events, and excursions.
  • Assist with pastoral care and supervision
  • Support the wider team

Summary of House Parents:

  • Lead on creating a home-from-home experience for students
  • Assist with social activities and excursions
  • Support the wider team

Qualifications for teaching positions:

  • Native level English
  • Experience: 1 year teaching EFL full-time or 9 month PGCE course English / MFL
  • Essential: Cambridge CELTA / Trinity TESOL or PGCE + Degree
  • Desirable: Diploma in EFL (DELTA or Dip. TESOL), Cert. YL

Salary and Benefits: The campus is just outside historic Ludlow, a beautiful Shropshire market town. Residential staff benefit from healthy, freshly cooked food (all meals) and accommodation on campus (worth £74.62 a week).

Salaries:

  • Teacher: £660 pw (15 hours teaching)
  • Activity Programme Manager: £660-£725 pw
  • House Parent: £540-£660 pw
  • Activity Leader: £540-£660 pw

Scheduled working hours do not exceed 48 hours over a 6-day week.
