Responsibilities

  • Prepare and adapt existing materials to suit students’ needs and abilities.
  • Deliver 32 hours of lessons each week in line with the syllabus and Teacher Handbook for the Oxford International Junior Programmes.
  • Manage student behaviour to create an academically fulfilling environment.
  • Encourage student participation through a positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Attend staff meetings as required.
  • Keep all administration up-to-date – class registers, work records and student reports – completed professionally and timely, as delegated by the Director of Studies.
  • Be observed by a TEFL Q qualified observer and, where necessary, by a group leader.

Qualifications

  • A TrinityTESOL or CELTA certificate (other TEFL qualifications accepted if validated by an external body and contain at least 6 hours of observed teaching practice).
  • A degree from any discipline.
  • Be 18 years old and over.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.

Preferred

  • CELTAYL or YL extension.
  • Experience working in a junior residential setting.
