Responsibilities
- Prepare and adapt existing materials to suit students’ needs and abilities.
- Deliver 32 hours of lessons each week in line with the syllabus and Teacher Handbook for the Oxford International Junior Programmes.
- Manage student behaviour to create an academically fulfilling environment.
- Encourage student participation through a positive and enthusiastic approach.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Keep all administration up-to-date – class registers, work records and student reports – completed professionally and timely, as delegated by the Director of Studies.
- Be observed by a TEFL Q qualified observer and, where necessary, by a group leader.
Qualifications
- A TrinityTESOL or CELTA certificate (other TEFL qualifications accepted if validated by an external body and contain at least 6 hours of observed teaching practice).
- A degree from any discipline.
- Be 18 years old and over.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Proficient in English.
- Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.
Preferred
- CELTAYL or YL extension.
- Experience working in a junior residential setting.
