About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Supervisor to join our Major Projects business unit supporting Net Zero Teesside.

Role Purpose:

  • To provide professional site support services to project teams to support effective operational delivery.
  • To ensure consistent, effective, and efficient site support services in accordance with CSUK policy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Accurate costing and control of project expenditure, including timely monthly project cost reports.
  • Interface directly with project staff to ensure projects receive adequate support from the site support function.
  • Ensure site support processes are applied consistently across projects per CSUK policies.
  • Manage new starts, transfers, and timesheet input for weekly paid operatives.
  • Review accounts transactions processed by Cost Administrators, including plant transactions, catalogue call-offs, material receipt/GRN processing, invoice processing, PNPO processing, supplier queries, and other transactions.
  • Process accounts transactions such as plant returns, queries, sundry sales invoices, rent, petty cash, minor purchases, and supplier queries.
  • Calculate project accruals for CVR.
  • Assist with resolving payroll queries.
  • Gather, record, and report data for sustainability metrics (CRC, meters, van logs, etc.)
  • Assist with site setup.
  • Manage project staff holiday records and timesheets, potentially including self-service timesheets.
  • Manage project ancillary staff such as cleaners, storemen, and secretaries.
  • Live the Balfour Beatty Values and maintain a focus on Zero Harm.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience in performing site admin roles related to project cost reporting on large or multiple sites in construction.
  • Responsibility for ordering, receipting, invoice processing, and payroll.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP cost management modules and construction/engineering working rule agreements is desirable.
  • Numeracy and IT skills, including intermediate Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and promote good practices for cost control.
