TEESSIDE UNIVERSITY recruitment on behalf of TU Online Ltd. TU Online Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Teesside University with a dedicated focus upon providing flexible online learning opportunities across a range of one hundred percent online courses, from degrees to doctorates. TU Online Ltd is looking for an online Tutor to support and deliver teaching upon the 100% online MA Trauma Informed Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver teaching on the 100% online MA Trauma Informed Practice.
  • Contribute to the development of course content and materials under the direction of the course team.
  • Support students within their research and in the development of the academic skills required to undertake a Masters.
  • Promote the learning of adults through online-based tuition methods and use information and communication technology in teaching and supporting students.
  • Apply best practice in online teaching and pedagogy; experience with virtual learning environments / learner management systems and the higher education sector is desirable.
  • Attend the Middlesbrough campus to collect IT equipment and participate in training from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Successful candidates will be expected to have at least a Masters or equivalent within a relevant field and subject area, plus relevant and substantial experience within a trauma-informed practice (e.g., occupational therapy, education, social work and/or healthcare).
  • Experience in project supervision and the ability to support students within their research and development of academic skills for a Masters.
  • An appreciation of how adults learn, study skills, and a commitment to student-centred learning.
  • Ability and willingness to promote the learning of adults through online tuition and to use information and communication technology in teaching and supporting students.
  • Experience in best practice online teaching and pedagogy; experience with virtual learning environments / learner management systems and the higher education sector is desirable.
  • Willingness to contribute to the development of course content and materials under the direction of the course team.

Location and Travel

The role is predominantly remote; there is an expectation to attend our Middlesbrough campus to collect IT equipment and participate in training from time to time.
