Our client has grown to become one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of wheat derivatives such as starches, sweeteners, proteins and alcohol for major food and industrial sectors worldwide.

They are looking for an experienced EC&I Engineer to join their growing Engineering maintenance and operations team.

  • Repair and maintenance service, operating the Electrical Generation Plant, Peaking Generators, Steam Raising Plant and Water Treatment Plant in an efficient, safe manner.
  • Run the day-to-day operations of Boilers, Gas Turbines (CHP plants) and Reverse Osmosis skids.
  • Monitor boiler and water treatment plant, adjusting settings as conditions require.
  • Monitor running conditions of the burning of process gas and adjust fuel combinations to suit steam requirements and process gas availability.
  • Plan by liaising with Production regarding steam availability and requirements, and the level of electricity available for site usage.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Production departments regarding breakdowns and routine maintenance.
  • Effectively carry out planned, predictive and reactive electrical maintenance of the plant, ensuring that all equipment is maintained correctly and in a timely manner for production to operate efficiently.
  • Fault finding, Testing, Calibration, Installation & Commissioning of a broad range of process instrumentation.
  • Electrical installation and commissioning of new and repaired machinery and equipment.

Requirements:

  • A recognised EC&I engineering apprenticeship ideally gained in a heavy process industry.
  • Electrical, Control and Instrumentation diagnosing/fault finding.
  • HV switching and operations experience or willingness to learn it (training provided).
  • Experience in running operation on CHP plants or willingness to learn it (training provided).

Competitive salary, ~33 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), ~Generous Pension Scheme, ~Life Assurance Scheme, ~Healthcare scheme, ~Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 16:30, ~Expectation to join call out system once fully competent in role (Weekly £250 indemnity paid plus advanced rates for call outs).
