An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Planning and Reporting team as a Finance Business Partner.This is a fixed-term role for 6 months. As Finance Business Partner, you will be the primary finance contact for the business unit operational and commercial teams, ensuring these teams are supported and challenged in delivery of their financial performance, whilst also providing valuable insight to aid in decision making. This role includes business unit level responsibility for management reporting and driving process efficiencies wherever possible.

Location: Head Office, Middlesbrough. Hybrid working available with four days based in the office.

Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum

As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Primary finance support and contact for business unit management team, developing a business partnering relationship, providing key metrics and analysis as a foundation for commercial decision making.
  • Analyse and interpret financial and non-financial data, identifying trends and providing recommendations for strategic decision making.
  • Provide financial expertise and guidance on new commercial opportunities, initiatives, investments and projects.
  • Improve awareness at all levels of finance and cost / revenue benefits as a key factor in business decisions.
  • Own month end process, including production of management accounts, performing variance analysis, providing insights to all key stakeholders.
  • Present monthly results to senior leaders, including the Executive Team, enabling understanding of the financial results and providing insights, including opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the business unit, ensuring full understanding of assumptions and business drivers, with accompanying analysis and bridges.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure controls are in place and are being adhered to.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies in the day-to‑day role.
  • Compliance with internal & SOX controls (where applicable), including documentation and review.
  • Provide end of year audit support, providing adequate information and analysis to auditors where requested.
  • Ad-Hoc assignments in line with role, including project work

We are seeking someone who:

  • Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience, supported by a number of years of experience in a similar role
  • Management Accounting Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to build and maintain credible relationships with key stakeholders
  • Possess a questioning and analytical nature, enabling interpretation of financial and non-financial data
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage time
  • Ability to be flexible and resilient
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Excel
