Are you a talented litigator looking to develop your career within a highly regarded Contentious Trusts & Probate team?
At Tees, we're looking for a Solicitor/Associate to join our growing Chelmsford team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with dispute resolution experience who is passionate about delivering outstanding client service and helping clients navigate complex and often sensitive inheritance disputes. The role includes managing your own caseload while working closely with senior lawyers on high-value and complex matters.
About the role
You will advise clients on a broad range of Contentious Trusts & Probate matters, including disputes involving:
- Wills and estates
- Trusts
- Powers of attorney
- Inheritance and probate claims
- Alternative dispute resolution and settlement negotiations
You'll manage matters from initial instruction through to resolution, working with experts, Counsel and other professionals where required. There will also be opportunities to undertake advocacy and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
Alongside your own caseload, you'll build strong client relationships, and contribute to business development, networking and marketing initiatives.

- Have experience in litigation and dispute resolution, with exposure to Contentious Trusts & Probate matters
- Can manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision
- Deliver exceptional client service and build lasting client relationships
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
- Enjoy mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Possess excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Are organised, collaborative and committed to high professional standards
