We are seeking an ambitious Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join our growing and highly regarded Dispute Resolution team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with Chris Hook and other experienced litigators on a broad range of high-quality commercial disputes and commercial chancery matters, while helping to shape the continued growth of the practice. The successful candidate will enjoy a varied caseload, direct client contact, genuine responsibility and clear opportunities for progression.

The role

You will manage your own caseload whilst supporting senior members of the team on complex matters. You will advise a broad range of businesses, directors, shareholders, partnerships and individuals on commercial disputes and contentious commercial matters.

Typical areas of work:

  • Contractual and business disputes
  • Shareholder and partnership disputes
  • Commercial chancery matters
  • Debt recovery and enforcement
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Property-related disputes
  • Injunctions and other interim remedies
  • Alternative dispute resolution, including mediation
  • General dispute resolution and litigation strategy

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied commercial litigation caseload with appropriate supervision.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice and exceptional client service.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting Partners and senior lawyers on complex matters.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.
  • Achieving agreed financial and performance targets.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and generate cross-referrals.
  • Contributing to the team’s technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Taking an active role in networking, marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Helping to strengthen the firm's reputation within the local business and professional community.

Working arrangements:

This role offers a blended approach to working with an expectation of three days per week in the office. Flexibility of working hours may be required to meet client needs. Access to a vehicle may provide additional flexibility.
