Role Description
The Procurement Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Middlesbrough.
This position is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying sourcing needs, preparing and issuing requests for proposals, evaluating suppliers, and overseeing contract awards.
The Procurement Manager will work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other stakeholders to align procurement strategies with project objectives, monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive cost efficiency and value for money.
The role also includes continuous improvement of procurement processes and contributing to risk management and budget control for projects.
Qualifications
- Strong procurement and supplier evaluation skills, with experience in selecting and managing vendors for project and maintenance environments.
- Demonstrated capability in contract negotiation and contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and administering commercial agreements.
- Experience in construction, engineering, or professional services procurement is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems, specifically Maximo would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to work ethically, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to non-discriminatory, inclusive procurement practices.
