Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area.Hamsterley ward are looking for an enthusiastic Mental Health Nurse to join their team.We are passionate about teamwork and in creating a great place to work.This role includesImproving the lives of those with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through delivery of excellent services to promote recovery.To be compassionate in meeting the needs of patientsTo be professionally accountable and responsible for patient care, undertaking a range of clinical/therapeutic interventions.Acting as named nurse to patientsTo facilitate the development of others with in the team and to support student nursesTo be responsible for the day to day running of the wardTo promote at all times a positive image of mental health services for other people and the wider TrustMain duties of the jobHamsterley ward is an acute assessment ward for people aged 65 years and older who are experiencing organic mental illness.Maintaining patients dignity, privacy and safety at all times. Assessing riskAdhering to mental capacity and mental health act.Recognising potential signs of harm and ensuring patients are safeguarded.Maintaining high professional standards.Delivering and planning evidenced based care in collaboration with the patient, families and wider MDT.Assessing patient need and delivering appropriate and timely interventions.Safe administration and storage of medicines.The MDT team consists of medical staff, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language services, dietetics and physical health care, due to this we are able to offer a comprehensive assessment of each patient and their individual needs.Daily MDT report outs and discussions aid the holistic approach to our care on Hamsterley ward and contribute to the effective treatment and management of each patient, whilst considering discharge planning throughout their in-patient journey.About usWorking for TEWV NHS Trust you can expect fantastic training & development opportunities with the strong links we have developed at our local universities\'.
