Overview

We are looking for people who can work relatively independently, using their own skills (art and craft, cooking/baking, gardening, music and exercise, puzzles and games) to support patients in engaging with meaningful activity, and through this promote wellbeing using a client centred approach. You will need to be able to communicate well with a wide range of individuals, adapting your communication style according to individual need in a responsive manner. Although this role will primarily focus on the delivery and planning of activities there will be an expectation for the successful candidate to deliver direct patient care and work directly with the nursing team to ensure patient care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified activity co-ordinator who has experience of working within mental health services to join a team, working in a rewarding environment where you will get to develop a full range of skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a range of therapeutic, wellbeing and social activities for service users, designed to be appropriate to service user needs and within established service guidelines, with support from the Nursing Team and in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy Team.
  • Deliver direct patient care as part of the role and work with the nursing team to ensure patient care.
  • Collaborate in the planning and development of activities, taking a client-centred approach to promote wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Completed a relevant Diploma Level 3/Relevant Level 3 or above qualification (e.g. in health and/or social care, communication, teaching and numeracy, literacy Level 2 or equivalent).

Development and Opportunities

To the competency framework we offer a comprehensive induction and workforce development plan with a vast array of personal, professional and academic training opportunities enabling you to expand your skill set and evidence-based practices.

Additional Information

Forensic Services are looking for a key member of staff who will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of activities for service users, supported by the Nursing Team while working collaboratively with the Occupational Therapy Team. We pride ourselves on a high standard of care within a multi-disciplinary, recovery-focused approach. We are able to offer sponsorship for a Health and Care Worker or Skilled Worker visa, subject to candidate and position eligibility.
