Tees Active is a charitable leisure management organisation based in Stockton-On-Tees, North East England. We are dedicated to promoting physical activity and providing equal opportunities for everyone to enjoy the health benefits of an active lifestyle. As a non-profit-distributing social enterprise, we combine the principles of the public sector with the agility of the private sector to deliver sustainable services with the support of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑driven Management Accountant to support the effective and efficient operation of our financial function. This is a key role within the Finance Team, providing accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis and insight across all our venues and service areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and full month‑end support.
- Working closely with budget holders to review performance and strengthen financial control.
- Supporting preparation of annual accounts, year‑end audit information and compliance activities.
- Producing ad‑hoc financial reports, forecasts and performance analysis for the Leadership team.
- Preparing annual budgets, periodic outturns, and assisting with medium‑term financial planning.
- Reconciling payroll and preparing payments to HMRC and pension providers.
- Maintaining The Fixed Asset registers and support capitalisation, depreciation and VAT returns.
- Contributing to cash‑flow projections, bank reconciliations and financial systems administration.
- Providing financial training and guidance to colleagues across the business.
