We're looking for a Production Area Leader to take ownership of one of our production areas, leading by example to ensure quality, productivity and performance targets are achieved every day. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll coordinate your team, solve problems, identify opportunities to improve processes and help keep production running smoothly. You'll work closely with Production Supervisors and fellow Area Leaders to deliver operational excellence while creating a positive, high‑performing environment. What You'll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in keeping production performing at its best by:
- Leading the day‑to‑day performance of your designated production area
- Coordinating your team to consistently achieve capacity, quality and productivity targets
- Monitoring performance, identifying issues early and taking action to keep production on track
- Maintaining and updating the area’s visual management board with clear KPI performance
- Driving Lean and Kaizen initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Looking for continuous improvement opportunities that enhance safety, quality and workflow
- Working collaboratively with other Area Leaders to balance labour and share best practice
- Communicating effectively across shifts to ensure seamless handovers and operational continuity
- Managing consumables to prevent production interruptions
- Maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards and ensuring the area remains audit‑ready
- Supporting equipment care through completion of cleaning schedules
- Producing a weekly performance summary highlighting successes, trends and improvement opportunities
- Providing flexible support across multiple production areas when required
- Training, coaching and supporting Production Operatives to achieve high standards
- Escalating recurring quality or performance concerns to the Production Supervisor
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- At least 1 year’s experience coordinating or overseeing a team of 5 or more people
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
- At least 1 year’s experience working within a manufacturing team
- Proven experience as a Production Operative or in a similar role
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs (Grade A*-C / 9-4), including English and Maths, or equivalent
You’ll be a reliable, proactive and positive team player who enjoys taking ownership and leading by example. You naturally motivate and support those around you, communicating confidently and working collaboratively to achieve shared goals. You’re organised, solutions‑focused and comfortable making decisions in a fast‑paced environment, always looking for ways to improve processes, quality and efficiency.
