The Home Energy Advisor will provide practical, in‑home support to residents who may be at risk of fuel poverty, helping them make their homes warmer, healthier, and more affordable to run. This includes delivering home energy assessments, fitting simple energy‑saving measures, and offering personalised advice on reducing energy use and managing household costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out home visits to support vulnerable residents, including older people, low income households, disabled residents, and families with young children.
- Provide tailored energy advice, including guidance on heating, ventilation, and managing energy bills.
- Install basic energy‑saving items such as LED bulbs, draught excluders, radiator reflector panels, and hot water tank jackets.
- Advocate for residents with energy providers to help secure better tariffs and resolve billing issues.
- Deliver informal energy awareness sessions to community groups and partner organisations.
- Maintain accurate records, manage a diary of appointments, and ensure all administrative tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Build strong referral pathways with local authorities, housing providers, health services, and community organisations.
